hypnopompic (hip-no-POM-pik) adjective
Pertaining to the semiconscious state before waking.
[From Greek hypnos (sleep) + pompe (sending away).]
Lovely word, for a delicious gauzy part of the day ~ my favourite part of the day, perhaps :-)
I haven't been blogging much lately ~ I've felt the need to curl up into a wee ball and attempt a form of hibernation. In fact I've been fairly hypnopompic. Haven't done much running or writing either, and that is offically A Bad Thing. I have promised myself I'll be a bit more proactive next week. maybe. If it's a bit warmer.
The lovely Iain Banks tells us Why he writes in The Guardian:
Q: What advice would you give to new writers?
A: The Three Ps: practice, practice, practice. Writing is like everything else: the more you do it the better you get.
Gawd bless him. He speak the truth.

Hope you are feeling better. HUgs and wishing the writing and the running will help.

Hey thinking of you - whether or not you're blogging.

Great advice from Iain Banks and great word from you:-)
He sure does! Now I must practise harder!
He does indeed speak the truth. I prefer the falling asleep part to the waking up part, which is odd because I'm a morning person. Hope the sunshine has helped you a little further out of your hibernation.
hope you are feeling better. I do agree with the practice thing as well.
I love that feeling, now I know what it's called. I agree about the practice, practice, practice too.
Lovely word indeed. Hope you feel up to emerging from your hibernation soon xxx
Hypnopombic...what a great word.
I love finding out where words come from and actually had a row with the consultant over the meaning of a word - stupidly just before my op - I now only have one ear. Joking:)
Didn't know the word, but I sure recognize my favourite time of day - I usually prolong it as long as I can
