Kate Harrison has very kindly added me to the Novel Race, so i am metaphorically lacing up my Asics this very minute.
As I said previously, I haven't a hope in hell of winning this race, but then again I had less than no chance of winning the Great North Run but I still entered: my only desire was to finish, and in one piece, and I managed that, so i am transferring that same wish to the novel in hand: finish it, without it finishing me first!
And anyway, it's not the winning, its the taking part that counts, isn't that right?
